5 Friendly April Fools Pranks to Play on Your Work Colleagues (April 1st)
March 21, 2018 | By Mason Roberts
This year, Easter Sunday lands on April 1st , which also happens to be April Fools’ Day. When you head into work on Monday, you’d better be on the lookout because it’s a prank or be pranked scenario. Many people eagerly await this day to get back at their boss or co-workers the “Jim Halpert” way.
If you dare to join in, here are 5 friendly April Fools pranks you can pull play on your work colleagues. We can’t promise you won’t get pulled into the boss’s office afterward, but who knows? You may become the new reigning office prankster if you pull it off right!
Fill Your Boss’s Office with Balloons
Filling your boss’s office with balloons is a classic prank that’s both harmless and hilarious. All you need is a bag of balloons and a lot of hot air. Hopefully, your boss has a sense of humor, otherwise, you may want to pick another target.
Move Your Co-Worker’s Desk
As long as your office’s desks aren’t bolted to the wall or floor, you should be able to pull this one off easily enough with just a little help. Simply flip your victim’s desk around, but make sure everything on top is facing “the right way” with the chair in the same place it was originally. Your coworker won’t realize their desk is flipped around until they go to sit down to start their day.
Cover Your Colleague’s Desk with Weird Pictures
You’ll have to put a little more work into this one, but it’s totally worth it. Go to your local FedEx Office or office supply center and print out poster-sized pictures of your co-worker’s most reviled celebrity, animal or other objects of animosity. Wallpaper their desk and office space with these cringe-worthy images - the expression on their face will be priceless.
Bring a Box of “Doughnuts” to Work
You may risk turning the entire office against you with this one. Ask your local Dunkin’ Donuts or Krispy Kreme for an empty doughnut box (at least big enough to hold a dozen). Instead of sweet, chocolate-glazed treats, fill the box with an assortment of heart-healthy snacks, such as carrots and celery sticks with a side of hummus. This is a great little prank that also sends a fun but health-conscious message to the office snackers.
Gift Wrap Your Co-Worker’s Office Space
Make Christmas come early this year with this Jim Halpert classic. Now, you don’t have to go as far as replacing your co-worker’s desk with cardboard so it collapses the moment they sit down. Just wrapping everything up will be more than enough. Get a bunch of wrapping paper and start wrapping literally everything on and around their desk.
Now, you know your boss and colleagues better than anyone, so perform these pranks at your own risk. Happy pranking, and be sure to keep it light and friendly. Remember, you're free to prank, but you are not free of the consequences!
One thing that’s not a laughing matter, however, is a financial emergency. If a sudden expense or financial emergency has left you short between paychecks, payday loans are a way to get fast cash in as little as 30 minutes.
